ORIFICE PLATE ASSEMBLIES

Orifice plate assemblies are the most commonly used differential type flow measurement element in the process industry. These are precision machined as per various international standards. The assemblies are available with Weld-neck, Slip-on, Socket Weld and Screwed type flange mountings. These are the simplest for installation and maintenance.

Averaging Bar also kwon as Multiport Averaging Pitot have application for air, gases, liquids & steam flow measurement. These are used where minimum permanent pressure loss is desired. Averaging Bar is compact and easy to install and maintenance free. It is designed to fit in the duct/pipe of any size and shape circular, square or rectangular. Averaging Bar can be provided with online insert-retract mechanism. This is useful when the fluid is not clean and has some solid particles which can clog the sensing ports of Averaging Bar. Instead of Insert-retract mechanism, auto purging of Air for cleaning the clogged sensing ports is more advantageous. In this, compressed Air is purged into the Averaging Bar. This cleans the clogged ports. The frequency of purging can be controlled through DCS or with timers.

Aerofoil has application for air flow measurement through ducts square or rectangular. Aerofoil is compact and easy to install and maintenance free. It is fabricated and fitted in the duct of shape square or rectangular. This is one of the best and reliable flow measurement devices which can be installed in ducts with shorter straight lengths.

INTAKE CONE

Intake Cone has application for measurement of airflow of Compressors and Exhausters, FD fans, etc. When installation of flow element on the discharge side is not possible due to straight length unavailability, Intake Cone can be used efficiently in such application. Intake Cone is fabricated to suit the fan inlet dimensions. They can be designed for circular, square, rectangular or any shape of inlet of the FD fan or Compressor. They can have end flanges for mounting or can directly be butt welded to the pipe/duct.

Venturi has applications for measurement of gases, steam, liquid flowing through circular, square or rectangular pipes/ducts. These are manufactured precisely as per various international standards. The permanent pressure loss against this flow element is the lowest as compared to the Orifice & Nozzle

INTEGRAL ORIFICE PLATE ASSEMBLIES

Integral Orifice Plate Assemblies are the most useful for pipe sizes 40 NB and below. With these the Differential Pressure Transmitter is directly mounted on the Orifice assembly. This eliminates the impulse piping, and the flow metering system becomes very compact. Integral Orifice plate assembly can be provided with upstream and downstream meter runs with end flanges as per the process requirement. This facilitates faster installation and becomes easy for cleaning / maintenance.

Long Radius Flow Nozzles are used when low permanent pressure loss is desired and high operating pressure and high operating temperatures are involved. These are precision machines as per various international standards. Long Radius Flow Nozzle is generally welded in the pipe and has D and D/2 pressure taps. These nozzles can also be mounted between flanges like an orifice plate.

The V-Cone flow meter is a differential pressure type flowmeter. Differential pressure is measured at the V-Cone flow meter’s taps using a variety of differential pressure transducers. The DP created by a V-Cone flow meter will increase and decrease exponentially with the flow velocity. As the constriction takes up more of the pipe cross-sectional area, more differential pressure will be created at the same flowrates. High accuracy of measurement 0.5% of reading, High turndown ratio 10:1 and low permanent pressure loss. Short upstream (3D) & downstream (1D) straight length is required.

WEDGE-METER

A Wedge-shaped restriction develops a DP in proportion to flow rate. There is no stagnation of solids or liquids present in the flowing fluid. Bi-directional flow element. Accuracy of 0.5% FS. This type of flow element is especially recommended for use on difficult-to-measure slurries containing solids in suspension, which tend to plug more conventional flow measuring methods. This design is also used to contain hazardous materials within the process piping, eliminating the storage of those fluids in traditional impulse lines and conventional transmitter flanges

VENTURI NOZZLE

This is a Differential pressure type flow element generally used in fire-fighting systems to measure the water flow. A differential pressure is produced proportional to the flow rate due to the precisely machined profile of the flow element. The display can be analog or digital.
